What is Google Ad Grants? Google Ad Grants is a Google programme that gives eligible charities up to $10,000 (roughly £7,500) a month of free advertising on Google Search. To keep the grant, accounts must follow strict rules, including a 5% click-through rate across the account, no single-word or very low-quality keywords, and tracking real conversions such as enquiries or donations.

Why most charities struggle with their grant

The grant is generous, but the rules make it hard to run well alongside everything else a charity does.

Strict compliance rules

Miss the 5% click-through rate or use the wrong keywords and Google can suspend the account.

Capped bids

Grant accounts compete with lower bids than paid advertisers, so keyword choice and ad quality matter more.

No time in-house

Small teams rarely have hours each week to test ads, check search terms and fix problems.

How we manage your Google Ad Grant

We treat your grant like a paid account, measured on real results rather than clicks.

Compliant keyword research

Campaigns built around searches people make when they want to donate, volunteer, get support or learn more about your cause.

Ads that inspire action

Clear, emotive ad copy that drives clicks and keeps your account above the 5% click-through rate.

Pages that convert

We connect each ad to the most relevant page and suggest improvements so visitors take the next step.

Monthly reporting

Plain-English reports on clicks, enquiries and grant usage, so trustees can see the value.

Frequently asked questions

Is Google Ad Grants really free?

Yes. Google provides up to $10,000 a month of search advertising at no cost to eligible charities. You only pay for management if you use an agency like us.

Which charities are eligible?

Most UK registered charities can apply through Google for Nonprofits. Government organisations, hospitals and schools are not eligible, although their charitable foundations often are.

Why do so many grant accounts get suspended?

Usually because the account drops below a 5% click-through rate or uses keywords Google does not allow. We monitor this every month so it does not happen.

Do I have to sign a contract?

No. All our services are rolling monthly, with no contracts and no setup fees.
