By Jack Walker, Managing Director of OptiModo Marketing · Updated October 2026

How much do social media packages cost in the UK? Most UK social media packages cost between £100 and £1,500 a month. Budget packages (£100 to £250) usually cover a few scheduled posts a week. Mid-range packages (£250 to £750) add custom content across two or three platforms and monthly reporting. Full-service packages (£750+) add daily posting, community management, video and strategy. OptiModo Marketing’s packages start at £219 + VAT a month, with no contracts.

If you run a small business, social media can bring in customers, but only if it’s done consistently and well. Social media packages let you hand that work to a team for a fixed monthly price. How much do social media packages cost in the UK?

Prices vary with how much is done for you. Based on published UK agency and freelancer prices, here’s what you can typically expect:

Package level Typical monthly price What you usually get
Budget £100 to £250 A few posts a week on one or two platforms, often template graphics
Mid-range £250 to £750 Custom content on two or three platforms, a content calendar and monthly reporting
Full-service £750 to £1,500+ Daily posting, community management, video, strategy and often paid ads

Paid advertising is usually priced separately, with your ad spend paid directly to the platform. Our paid ads management starts from £450 a month.

What’s included in a social media management package?

A good package should cover these five things. Use this as a checklist when comparing providers:

What’s included Why it matters
Strategy and content calendar Posting with a plan, tied to your goals, rather than posting for the sake of it
Custom content creation Graphics, captions and video made for your brand, not generic templates
Scheduling and posting Consistent posting is what keeps you visible and builds trust
Community management Replying to comments and messages, where many enquiries actually start
Reporting Clear monthly numbers so you can see what’s working and what’s changing

Types of social media marketing packages

Most providers offer some mix of these. Pick the one that matches your main goal:

Social media management packages

The most common option. The agency plans, creates and posts your content across your chosen platforms each month. Best for businesses that want a consistent, professional presence without doing it themselves.

Social media advertising packages

Paid campaigns on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn or TikTok, built to generate leads or sales. Best when you need enquiries quickly. Ad spend is usually on top of the management fee. See our advertising packages for small businesses.

Social media campaign packages

A fixed-length push around a launch, offer or event, combining content and ads. Good for seasonal businesses or new products.

Content-only packages

The agency creates graphics, captions or video, and you post them yourself. Cheaper, but you still need the time to stay consistent.

Platform-specific packages

Focused on one platform, such as LinkedIn for B2B companies or Instagram for consumer brands. Useful when your customers are concentrated in one place.

Cheap vs professional packages: what’s the difference?

A £99 package and a £499 package can both say “social media management”, but they’re rarely the same thing. Cheaper packages often rely on templates, fewer platforms and no strategy or reporting. That’s fine if you just need to look active. If you want social media to bring in enquiries, look for custom content, a named account manager and monthly reporting. We cover this in more detail in Are cheap social media services worth it?

How to choose the right social media package

  1. Start with your goal. Visibility and trust, or enquiries and sales? The second usually needs content plus ads.
  2. Pick the platforms your customers use. LinkedIn for B2B, Instagram and Facebook for most consumer businesses.
  3. Check what “posts” means. Custom-made content or templates? How many a week, on which platforms?
  4. Ask about reporting. You should get clear monthly numbers, not just likes.
  5. Avoid long contracts. A good agency keeps you with results, not paperwork. We don’t use contracts.
  6. Compare the real cost of doing it yourself. Most owners spend 15 to 20+ hours a month on social media. See free tools vs hiring an agency.

Social media packages: FAQs

How much do social media packages cost in the UK?

Typically £100 to £1,500 a month. Budget packages start around £100 to £250, mid-range packages with custom content and reporting are around £250 to £750, and full-service packages are £750 and up. Our packages are £219, £439 or £499 + VAT a month.

What should a social media package include?

At minimum: a content plan, custom posts, scheduling and monthly reporting. Better packages add community management, video and strategy reviews.

Are monthly social media packages worth it?

For most small businesses, yes, if you choose a package with custom content and clear reporting. Consistency is what makes social media work, and a monthly package guarantees it.

Do social media packages include paid ads?

Usually not. Advertising is normally a separate service, with ad spend paid directly to the platform. We offer both, and can combine them.

Which platforms do your packages cover?

Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn as standard. Other platforms can be added on custom packages.

Do I have to sign a contract?

Not with us. All our packages are rolling monthly, and you can cancel any time.

How quickly will I see results?

Most clients see better engagement and more enquiries within the first 30 days, building over three to six months as content and audiences grow.
